2. Data We Access
Fibi requests access to specific Google services through OAuth 2.0. We only request the minimum permissions needed to deliver our features. Here is exactly what we access and why:
Gmail Modify Access(gmail.modify)
Why we need it: Fibi needs to read, compose, and manage your Gmail messages. Specifically, this scope allows Fibi to:
- Read emails: Fetch email metadata and message bodies from your inbox to perform AI-powered hunt — categorizing messages into actionable groups (urgent, needs reply, follow-up, FYI, etc.), detecting ghosted conversations, and enabling you to chat with your inbox using natural language.
- Create drafts: Generate AI-suggested replies and save them as drafts in your Gmail account. We never send emails on your behalf — only drafts are created for your review.
- Archive emails: Remove the INBOX label from threads you choose to archive directly from the Fibi dashboard, keeping your inbox clean.
- Delete emails: Move threads to trash when you choose to delete them from the Fibi dashboard. Deleted emails follow Gmail's standard 30-day trash retention before permanent deletion.
What we do: Email data is processed in real-time by our AI and is not permanently stored — only hunt results (categories and suggested replies) are saved to your account. Archive and delete actions are performed only when you explicitly click the corresponding button.
Google Calendar Read Access(calendar.readonly)
Why we need it: Fibi's Meeting Prep feature reads your upcoming calendar events and cross-references them with your email history. This helps you walk into every meeting fully briefed — seeing past conversations with each attendee summarized automatically.
What we do: We fetch upcoming events (title, time, attendees, meeting links) from your primary Google Calendar. This data is used in real-time to surface relevant email threads and is not permanently stored.
3. Data Storage & Retention
- Account data: Your email address and name (from Google sign-in) are stored to manage your Fibi account.
- Hunt results: Email categories, urgency levels, and suggested replies from each hunt session are stored so you can review past results.
- Email content: Raw email bodies are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored in our database. Only metadata (subject, sender, category) from hunt sessions is retained.
- Calendar data: Calendar events are fetched on demand and arenot stored in our database.
- Chat conversations: Your chat-with-inbox conversations are processed in real-time and are not stored after your session ends.
4. AI Processing
Fibi uses large language models (LLMs) to analyze your emails and generate insights. Your email data is sent to our AI provider (Abacus.AI) for processing. This data is used solely to generate your hunt results and chat responses — it is not used to train AI models and is not shared with third parties.
5. Security
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to access the specific Google services you authorized.
- We do not store your Google password. Authentication is handled entirely by Google's OAuth 2.0 flow.
- Access to Fibi is invite-only — new users require admin approval before they can use the service.
6. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Your data is shared only with:
- Abacus.AI: Our AI infrastructure provider, which processes email data to generate hunt results. They do not retain your data after processing.
- Google APIs: To fetch your email and calendar data as authorized by you through OAuth consent.
7. Your Rights
- Revoke access: You can revoke Fibi's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions.
- Delete your data: Contact us to request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export your data: You can request a copy of any data we store about you.
8. Cookies
Fibi uses essential cookies only — specifically, a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics that track individual users.
